Who says Sabah Opposition not united? If GE13 held today, even Umno members will MUTINY
SIPITANG -The overall indication of opposition political parties' strength in Sabah, according to Progressive Party (SAPP) are in fact ready for an onslaught on BN in a big way.
"In so long as opposition parties seen by general public that they work together and determine to topple BN they have enough support from the masses to make it happen," according to Amde Sidik, who is SAPP deputy president.
While speaking in one of the Aidilfitri open houses held in Kampung Skim, Sindumin today, he said, "Likewise, if any indication shows that politicians' doings are for self-interest or wanting to jump ship if and when they win, this would surely create self-destruction and BN will win big."
Mutiny
He added that the trend, should the GE be held today, Sabahans are ready even UMNO members would land support to execute mutiny.
"Sabah has had a history creating many giant killers in the past, examples during the eras of USNO, BERJAYA and PBS including former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh used money like rainwater yet fell victim. Therefore whoever think that veterans still having many following would better be thinking twice.
On the issue of old personalities whether they still play important role in this coming election, he said, old names are there but the young are reading their history, if one has been a YB for the past twenty years, surely their records of twenty years would be taken as a yardstick; if they performed only mediocrely, they won't get elected another five years.
"This time round the young-new voters look set to play an important role; they have been ignored, underestimated or even bullied for sometime. Whilst, the older ones those are given chances becoming ketua kampong, ketua imam alike, may be stunned, supporter of BN in particular UMNO. But their young are not thinking like them. The young who make frequent visits to towns and cities across the nation or better still our nation's capital are an informed generation, perhaps have more to tell to their elders.

    3. Are you sure enough that the oppositions are indeed powerful to overtake BN?

  4. As BN is getting motivated waiting for the coming election, opposition parties especially PKR seemed anxious. Their anxiety are getting more when their own Opposition Leader, Anwar Ibrahim stated that he would retire if they lose in the coming GE, like what was published by newspaper Financial Times (FT). How can PKR hope for a win if the suitable candidate are hard to find? Based on sources afloat in in various blog in the internet, PKR would compete for 66 seats for the coming GE13. On the previous GE 2008, PKR managed to win 31 seats and gained multiple Malay votes. But, it seems that PKR's liberal approach is now causing trouble to the party in gaining votes from the Malays.

    1. Meanwhile, Chinese are more comfortable with DAP than PKR. As for the Indians, many are tired of being cheated with false hopes given by PKR. Thus, whether they like it or not, PKR would have to rely on votes from the Chinese for the GE13. The same source mentioned that from 66 seats which they would compete, only 14 are from Malay candidates while 8 other candidates are from other races, which can be confirmed. 25 other seats are still in dilemma on which candidates should be in it. At least 5 seats suffered clash between PAS and DAP.

    2. At the same time, PKR do not even have any 'candidate of choice' either 'possible candidates' for 19 other seats. This means that from 66 seats, only 22 can be confirmed while 44 others are still undecided. This shows how hard it is for PKR to find suitable candidates, not even to find those who are fit to win in facing the coming election. What is worse is that even Anwar is said to be under dilemma whether to compete in Permatang Pauh or Nibong Tebal. Anwar is said to have realized that the support among Permatang Pauh to him is declining that they would not really come to his program (ceramah) anymore.

    3. With such weak Leader, PAS and DAP are also dragged into the issue. PAS previously imagined that they would compete with 80 seats instead of 67 seats on the previous GE. But, the hope of PAS in wanting to be the dominant party in Pakatan Rakyat Cabinet would definitely get sour welcome from DAP and PKR. And as usual, PAS would have to listen to whatever decision that are made by DAP and PKR. If this happens, DAP then would become the dominant party with 89 seats for its party, compared to PKR's 66 seats. This means that it would be easier for DAP to control and destroy rakyat if Pakatan Rakyat win the next GE. The fate of non-Chinese in Malaysia would be at risk if the country is under the leadership of DAP. So, this scenario shows that this would be the brink of losing for Pakatan Rakyat.

    4. Najib said what the country has achieved so far would not have been garnered without having national leaders with integrity and vision."Without integrity and vision, implementing any plan would result in a nightmare for the people," he said. The prime minister said the people should be grateful for the peace and unity they enjoyed.

    5. "Let's not make a mistake. If we do, we will lose the blessings we now enjoy. We have seen what has happened to the people in countries where political stability has been compromised," he said. The opposition will not succeed in penetrating Sabah, led by the Barisan Nasional (BN) under Chief Minister Musa Aman, in the next general election, said Sabah Information Executive Councillor Sapawi Ahmad.

  5. Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said opposition political parties in the country seem to be teaching people bad things, even matters contrary to religion. Evidently, three bad things were that debts do not have to be settled, good deeds can be forgotten and promises need not be fulfilled, he said.

  6. "Many promises were made (by the opposition parties) during the last general election but (after coming to power in several states) they did not fulfill them," he said.Najib said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, on the other hand, not only fulfilled its promises but also provided the people with aid which it had not promised in the first place.

  7. He also said that Islam required all debts to be settled, and added that when people died, their outstanding debts had to be settled by their next-of-kin.By debts, the prime minister was apparently referring to those associated with the opposition proposal to write off the loans provided by the National Higher Education Corporation Fund (PTPTN).

  8. Najib said the opposition was also poisoning the minds of the people by suggesting that they did not have to appreciate what the government was doing for them."They tell people it is not necessary to remember good deeds, associated with aid for the people. I do not know of any country providing the people with mosquito nets, dentures and spectacles. When the government resurfaces a road, tarring is done up to the steps of houses," he said.

  9. "Based on the current political scenario and the confidence shown by the people, Sabah BN will definitely win in the next general election," he said at the closing of the state- and Labuan-level 'Program Jelajah Isu'. Sapawi, who is also Sipitang MP, said that since the BN took over the state government in 1994, Sabah's financial position has strengthened, particularly with Musa's leadership.

  10. "Sabah only had a financial reserve of around RM300 million (in 1994) but it has increased substantially to RM3.3 billion as noted in the Auditor-General's Report. "This translates to good administration, especially economically, by the state government," he said.He also said that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak was a man of his word, and called on the people not to be influenced by propaganda spread by opposition political parties.
