Well its another Friday. Millions of Muslims will be attending the Friday prayers. Here is a short survey or poll that has been conducted via the Internet a few times already.
To all the Muslims who will be in the mosques listen to the khatib (the prayer leader, imam) giving the sermon or khutbah.
Listen carefully and satisfy yourself how many times they mention Allah.
Listen carefully how many times they speak about somnething that Allah says in the Quran.
Listen how many times they speak about something that is mentioned in the Quran at all.
There is one mosque in KL where the khatib refers frequently to Allah and what Allah says in the Quran. However the sermon in this mosque is conducted in English. It is located at Taman Duta.
But from previous surveys like this thru the Internet, in most mosques throughout the world, other than the mechanical recitation of Allahu Akbar, the Bismillah and maybe in the du'a, rarely does the khatib tell the people what the Quran says about anything. They hardly even mention Allah at all.
Its a Friday today. Those of you who go to the mosque can check this out for yourself.
