The Indonesian national who sustained a broken arm was thrown out of the bus and found three metres from the wreckage an hour after the accident which happened at about 2.20pm.
'Problems from the start'
"I paid RM5.90 and was given a ticket which showed my seat number was 37 but when I got on the bus, it was packed with four men already standing.
"The bus had problems from the start. It wasn't moving very smoothly, but it was moving fast," he said.
Although the survivors said the bus was packed, Land Transport Department chairperson Syed Hamid Albar said that it was not overcapacity.
He reportedly said that as a public stage bus it is allowed to carry 65 passengers, 45 sitting and 20 standing.
Meanwhile, rescue workers on the second day of the harrowing search found severed body parts, including two legs and human pieces of flesh.
"We don't know who the legs belong to and we are sending them to the forensics lab for investigation," Bentong police district chief Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said.
160 resecue workers from the police, fire department and the general operations force are involved in the search.
"Most of those who died sustained internal injuries. 15 have been identified...while five bodies have been claimed by their families," he was quoted by Sinar as saying.
