KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the marriage solemnisation ceremony of his daughter Nooryana Najwa with Daniyar Kessikbayev tonight which he conducted personally, meant a lot to him as a father.
"In a short while, I will marry Gina (Nooryana Najwa's nickname) off myself. God willing, everything will go smoothly," the prime minister said in his latest posting on Twitter and Facebook today.
In an earlier posting, Najib prayed that his daughter's wedding with Daniyar would be blessed by Allah.
"The happy moments my daughter Gina had waited for will happen tonight. As a father, I pray that Gina becomes a faithful wife," he said.
He also hoped that his daughter would always be happy with her husband.
Yesterday, spokesperson and representative for the prime minister's family at the engagement and marriage ceremonies, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said the marriage solemnisation ceremony would be held today at the prime minister's official residence in Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, and would be conducted by Najib himself.
Jamil Khir said the prime minister and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, as well as Daniyar's family would hold a wedding reception in Kuala Lumpur and in Pekan, Pahang.
Nooryana Najwa, 27, completed her studies in Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service in Georgetown University, Washington, United States of America, in 2011 and is now employed by a venture capital company.
She met Daniyar, 27, who is from Kazakhstan when both were students in USA.
