Don’t be quick to judge PM Najib Razak – Part 2

Don’t be quick to judge PM Najib Razak – Part 2
This is a second part to the article entitled ‘Don’t be quick to judge PM Najib Razak’ published on July 4, 2015. Essentially, the point that was sought to be made in that article was that we Malaysians must give time to our Prime Minister Najib Razak to explain the allegations made in The Wall Street Journal report on July 3, 2015. And it was also stated that in relation to this, the government investigators will not hide or conceal any information or documents from the Malaysian public.
Today, six days after the report by The Wall Street Journal, the Special Task Force that was formed to investigate this matter, comprising of Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, has confirmed — now wait for it — that PM Najib Razak had two accounts at AmBank Islamic and that the two accounts were closed on August 30, 2013, and March 9 this year.
There we have it. So, we have successfully taken the first step.
Slowly but surely, we will get to the second: what transactions took place in those accounts between March 2013 till time of closure.
Let’s be patient. Tracing these transactions takes time. The Special Task Force, I think, has to go through tons of paperwork and a lot of manpower will be needed, I think, to go through stacks of documents. Sleepless nights, I think, would be encountered. It’s not like we can get answers by a push of a button or anything like that. I mean, get real, it’s only 2015. So, be patient.
The Special Task Force today needed to inform the Malaysian public that PM Najib Razak’s accounts were not frozen, but were closed.
“Account Frozen” suggests implication to a wrong doing whereas “Account Closed” does not.
So you see, the Special Task Force know exactly what they are doing. - Malay mail
