PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said today his questioning the role of Datuk Khairul Azwan Haron in Mara's controversial property buys in Melbourne is not defamatory, despite threats by the Umno Youth deputy chief to sue him if an apology is not forthcoming.
"I have faced defamation suits many times before, and I think I know the defamation law better than him," Rafizi said at a press conference at PKR headquarters today.
Rafizi previously questioned Khairul and four other Umno Youth members' role in the purchase, for which Mara allegedly overpaid by a total of RM129 million.
His claims were met with criticism by Umno Youth leaders, including its chief, Khairy Jamaluddin.
