Expect phase 3, Najib warns nation of pair out to split nation

Without mentioning names, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak warned that there are two leaders who could disrupt the nation.
In an obvious reference to Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim, he said the two leaders have recently shook hands.
With this, he said the nation can expect "phase three".
Phase one, Najib said, was when the opposition leader had played the racial card in 2008 and appeared to be challenging the Federal Constitution.
"Prior to that, there were no questions regarding the constitution and all races lived harmoniously.
"We witnessed the effect of this in the 12th general election, where the country’s politics were determined by the racial factor," he added in an audio recording published by Astro Awani.
As for phase two, Najib said it occurred this year when an "old leader" disrupted the unity of the Malays and formed a new Malay-based party.
"This resulted in the Malay political power to be divided into five," he added.
Najib said the unity of the nation has been threatened by these two individuals, in addition to the opposition parties putting pressure on the government through rallies.
“These gatherings are seen hidden behind the bi-partisan image and seemed multiracial, where it continues to attack the ruling government.
“The party which administers Penang, which has been accused of corrupt practices, is not being viewed as such. What is more sad, this 'old leader' was prepared to be used in a rally to further split the people,” said Najib.
On the phase three threat, Najib said this is based on the two individuals who are now appeared to be on good terms.
“These two leaders, in phase one and phase two, they shook hands. We can assume what they will do next to the country would be phase three. Hence, for this reason, the 1Malaysia agenda should continue,” he said at the end of his message.

On Sept 5, Mahathir appeared in the High Court in Kuala Lumpur to attend Anwar's application to challenge the controversial National Security Council Act 2016.
In an exclusive interview with Malaysiakini, the former premier said he has already buried the hatchet with Anwar.
Commenting on the meeting, Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor had said that Mahathir can have Anwar as Umno has the rakyat. - Mkini
