Rosmah admitted she is MO1's wife, claims MP

The prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor has admitted she is the wife of Malaysian Official 1 (MO1), a DAP lawmaker claimed.

Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik wrote on his Facebook last Friday that he had asked "who is the wife of MO1" while passing by Rosmah.

He claimed that Rosmah replied: "Yes, I am. You think I am scared of you?"

When contacted, Ng claimed the exchange happened in the Dewan Rakyat, during the opposition's walkout last Friday.

Rosmah was seated behind the opposition lawmakers in the House while her husband Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak tabled Budget 2017.

Malaysiakini has contacted Rosmah's aide for comment regarding the alleged incident.

The opposition had walked out in the midst of Najib's speech as he began taking shots at them.

They had stood up holding ‘Siapa MO1’ (Who is MO1) placards, chanting "MO1, MO1" before leaving the Dewan Rakyat.

MO1 is a public official whom the US Department of Justice claimed received US$731 million allegedly stolen from 1MDB.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan has said that MO1 is the prime minister.

Meanwhile, DAP Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto said she too had an exchange with Rosmah.

Kasthuri claimed that as the opposition MPs were walking out, the prime minister's wife "sarcastically" told them repeatedly: "Thank you for coming."

The MP said this was against House rules "as guests are seen and not heard" unless given permission to speak by the speaker.

"So I confronted her and told her that while she is in the House, she should learn the rules, and she was shocked," Kasthuri told Malaysiakini. - Mkini
