Jamal finally nabbed with 12 others in pre-rally arrests

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, who leads the red-shirts movement, was finally arrested in the wee hours of Saturday.
A source close to Jamal told Malaysiakini he was detained by cops at around 1.30am.
According to Berita Harian, he was found at a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur and was brought to the Selangor police headquarters.
Jamal had gone off the radar as police arrested several key figures of the Bersih 5 rally and red-shirts counter rally in the last 24 hours.
Around the same time, activist Adam Adli Abd Halim was briefly detained by police at KL Sentral but was subsequently released.
Below is a brief chronology of the crackdown:

November 19
1.30am - Red shirts leader Jamal Md Yunos detained by cops in Shah Alam and brought to the Selangor police headquarters.
Friday night, several prominent protest organisers were also detained, namely Anis Syafiqah Mohd Yusof and Muhammad Safwan Anang.
Red-shirts activist Razali Zakaria and black-shirts activist Ayah Ipin Keramat were also arrested by police.
Earlier on Friday, police detained eight politicians and activists.
Among those arrested are Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah and Bersih secretariat member Mandeep Singh.
Maria and Mandeep were arrested after Bukit Aman police and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) raided Bersih's office in Petaling Jaya about 3pm.
In a tweet, Bersih said 10 computers, two mobile phones and documents related to the payroll and bank accounts of staff members were confiscated during the two-hour raid.
The action was taken under Section 124C of the Penal Code, which is related to activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.
Even some of the arrests were unrelated to Bersih, they targeted prominent protest leaders who were expected to attend the rallies tomorrow.
Loke was arrested under the Sedition Act 1948 for his speech at last weekend's Pakatan Harapan convention, in which he called for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to be “toppled” .
He was taken to Bukit Aman. The other DAP leader, Liu, who had gone to Bukit Aman, was subsequently arrested under Section 157 of the Penal Code.

Section 157 of the Penal Code concerns creating provocation with the intent to cause riot.
Luqman Nul Hakim, was arrested under Section 147 for rioting.
However, the reasons for Arutchelvan and Wong’s detention could not be ascertained.
According to a Suaram statement, which quoted Lee’s wife, several police personnel came to their house and said they were arresting him after a police report was lodged against him for planning to riot.
