A man caused quite a scene at a supermarket in Parit Buntar, Perak when he reportedly slit his own throat in front of shoppers.
According to The New Straits Times, the incident occured at around 3.20pm on Saturday when the man, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, reportedly walked into the wet goods area of the supermarket.
The man then reportedly brandished a knife and ran it across his neck.
The man, who was rapidly losing blood, reportedly wobbled out of the supermarket before collapsing at the entrance, shocking shoppers who were nearby.
He was reportedly rushed to the Parit Buntar Hospital before being transferred to the Taiping Hospital due to the severity of his injury.
Kerian district police chief Superintendent Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob told the daily that the police are currently still trying to determine his identity and the cause of the incident.
