NOW, JAMAL GOES MISSING: FAILS TO APPEAR AT RED-SHIRTS PEP TALK, PRESS CONFERENCE

KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos has failed to appear at a Red Shirts’ gathering at the National Mosque here on Friday in what was supposed to be a ‘pep talk’ for his supporters.
The Red Shirts leader was also supposed to give a press conference at 2.30pm ahead of Saturday’s Bersih 5 rally.
Sources close to Jamal told the awaiting media at 5pm that he was “unreachable” for the time being and his whereabouts were unknown.
Despite the presence of roughly 100 supporters who had waited for Jamal since 2pm, the press conference failed to take place.
According to the Red Shirts secretariat, this could be due to Jamal keeping a “low profile” from the police who might apprehend him ahead of their counter-protest against Bersih.
After waiting for about two hours, several Red Shirts leaders started to give pep talks to their supporters until the heavy rain forced the Red Shirts to run for cover.
Red Shirts secretariat Razali Zakaria said more Red Shirts will arrive later on at the same location where they are expected to camp there until Saturday morning.
“After we have about 1,000 here, the rest will be deployed to other locations such as Masjid Jamek, Bangsar and other Bersih 5 meeting points.
“The orders from the Red Shirts movement leaders are clear – wherever there’s yellow, there will be red,” he said.
Red Shirt leaders said that Jamal plans to hold a press conference at the same location at 10pm on Friday.
