PKR Youth leader's press conference raises more questions

Faced with allegations of cronyism and graft, PKR's Adam Rosli held a press conference today that only left the media with more questions than answers regarding his wealth.
This is because the Ampang PKR Youth leader refused to answer queries pertaining to his business, saying he would only share such details with the authorities investigating him.
"It is a private issue. I don't think I should explain to the media what my business is and where I do it, as it is a private matter, and if made viral, it would be dangerous to my business,” he told a press conference in Ampang today.
"But I guarantee I will cooperate with the police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) in their investigation, I will answer their questions and disclose all documents about my business."
Asked if it was true that he dealt in bulk shipments of furniture for export, he merely said he would answer “certain quarters” on that matter.
Queried whether he would declare his assets, as urged by PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli, Adam said that he saw no reason to do so.
"I agree with the suggestion but what is the need for me to declare my assets?
"I am not a civil servant, but if the party orders me to do so, and if it will satisfy some folks, I am willing to declare every single sen of my assets," he said.
Asked if his wealth was linked to him supposedly being Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali's proxy, Adam denied any such connections.
"Why must we involve Azmin? Why must everything that happens in Selangor be linked to Azmin and (PKR Wanita chief) Zuraida (Kamaruddin).
"If it is true that I am Azmin, Zuraida's proxy, I ask that (red-shirt leader) Jamal (Md Yunos) prove that I am so. Provide proof, not just negative perceptions, that is slander.
"I have owned a (Proton) Perdana since I was 19, before I got involved in politics," he added.
On viral pictures of him owning many more houses and cars, Adam's response was to ask journlists if it was wrong for businessmen like him to own luxury cars.
"That does not prove that it is my house. Prove it. Jamal can go to the bank and get solid proof.
"It is not wrong for me to own cars. Is it wrong? I am not a civil servant," he said, denying that he was in politics to court government contracts.
Legal action
Adam added he will take legal action against Ampang Umno chief Ismail Kijo and Jamal for supposefly making malicious allegations against him.
"I will file the suit against Ismail and Jamal for slander and making malicious accusations as soon as all legal actions concluded and I am proven innocent.

Adam became the topic of news reports after Jamal raised questions about his wealth.
Jamal previously took journalists on an aerial tour of Adam's bungalow in Ampang which he claimed was worth RM7 million.
Adam however refuted the claims, explaining that he bought the bungalow in an auction for RM1 million.- Mkini
