We are responding to Umno Youth chief's call to give constructive criticism, says Anis Syafiqah of Demi Malaysia.

PETALING JAYA: Student activist Anis Syafiqah Mohd Yusof today called on Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin to attend a youth congress she is organising for next year.
“We cannot deny that this initiative is moved by a group that is seen to be against the government’s policy and administration,” she said in a statement today.
“But that should not stop ministers, or anyone from the government to take part in it.”
Anis said the group, Demi Malaysia, is also responding to Khairy’s message to the youth, urging them to provide constructive criticism aimed at developing the country.
Her statement was jointly released with other youth activists such as Adam Adli, Sabah representative Rashida Kamal and Sarawak representative Simon Seah, as well as Mia Yusri who represents the Orang Asal.
Demi Malaysia says it could draw 1,000 youth from all sorts of backgrounds.
“Corruption, dirty and corrupt politics, abuse of power, the embezzlement of public funds, the play on racial and religious sentiments, are among the practices that have contributed to the problems the country is facing.
“When we know the economic and social crises are caused by politics, then it’s only right for the youth to respond back through politics.
“So we hope Khairy will join us, and contribute to our efforts to save the country and the youth’s future.”
The forum, known as “Kongres Anak Muda Malaysia 2017”, will be held from Feb 17 to 19 by Demi Malaysia.
Anis said Khairy is one among other youth leaders representing the nation’s political parties that have been invited to the congress. -FMT
