Zahid’s younger brother Dzulfikri dies

DPM’s special officer confirms news that the 45-year-old younger brother of the deputy prime minister passed away at 11.30pm last night.

IPOH: Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s younger brother, Ahmad Dzulfikri Hamidi, passed away at the Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur at 11.30pm last night.

Zahid’s Special Officer Khairuddin Tarmizi when confirming the death said Dzulfikri died at the Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital but did not mention the reason for his death. Dzulkifri was 45.

“I did not have the time to ask him (DPM) about his younger brother’s ailment, when Datuk Seri telephoned me to inform me of the matter just now,” he said when contacted by Bernama here tonight.

Dzulfikri’s remains would be buried at the Sungai Nipah Darat Muslim Cemetery in the family’s hometown of Bagan Datoh after Friday prayers today, Khairuddin said.-FMT
