Police are investigating secondary students who took an upskirt video of their female English language teacher at a school in Kuala Lumpur.
Dang Wangi district police chief Mohd Sukri Kaman confirmed receiving a police report on the matter yesterday.
"Police investigation found five students were involved.
"The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955," he said in a statement today.
Section 509 of the Penal Code concerns words or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman and carries a punishment of up to five years' imprisonment or a fine or both.
Secton 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 provides for a RM100 fine for threatening or insulting behaviour or exhibiting indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting writing or drawing that is likely to breach the peace.
Mohd Sukri said two of the students have had their statements recorded.
The incident happened on Monday at around 8.30am.
In the incident, a Form 3 student used a mobile phone to record an upskirt video of the teacher who was wearing a baju kurung.
"The 10-second recording was made viral among the students.
