Man hurt after construction crane collapses onto lorry in Perak

There were no deaths in an incident involving a collapsed crane at the project site of TNB-owned power company Manjung 5 Sdn Bhd, Manjung, Perak yesterday.
In a statement issued last night, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) said, however, one person was injured in the 11.10am mishap.
"The victim suffered slight injuries after he jumped out of a lorry and fell into a drain. He has been given medical treatment at a hospital," TNB said following claims made on social media that two people died and five were injured in the incident.
According to the statement, early investigations found that the crane operator did not use an outrigger when carrying out lifting works, causing the crane to be unstable.
"The construction work in the area is under the supervision of an appointed contractor. Further investigations are being conducted," TNB said, adding that the incident has been reported to the Perak Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
Photographs of the collapsed crane which hit a lorry went viral on the social media today.
