ALOR STAR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor received a pleasant surprise when they were presented with a ‘pulut kuning’ (yellow sticky rice) to celebrate their wedding anniversary while attending a dinner at the Dewan Seri Negeri in Wisma Darulaman, here this evening.
The beautifully-decorated traditional dish was a present from the Association of Kedah BN elected representatives’ wives (Bidara). Najib and Rosmah held hands to cut the ‘pulut kuning’ to celebrate their wedding anniversary, which fell on Feb 7.
The couple were subsequently congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and wife Datin Seri Seri Hizam Awang Kechik, who is also the president of Bidara.
The dinner was held to mark the closing of a five-day Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives’ Wives Annual Sports Tournament (PTIWRBNM) 2016/2017 which ended successfully today thanks to the participation of 570 participants from all 14 states.
