Azmin: PKR will go all out against those undermining Selangor

PKR deputy president however remains coy on who he was referring to.
azmin-selangor2PETALING JAYA: PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali this evening warned that the party will go all out against those attempting to undermine Selangor’s success.

Azmin, who is also Selangor menteri besar, claimed that of late, certain quarters had been jealous of the state’s success, including its housing policy and RM4 billion reserves.
These were only some of the accomplishments he had earlier listed out in his speech.
“These people are traitors and our enemies.
“But remember, they face Azmin Ali and PKR,” he said to rousing applause in a packed hall when officiating the PKR Women’s and Youth congress here.
Also present were vice-president Tian Chua, Wanita PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, and Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
On a separate matter, Azmin said the silver lining during times of crisis was that PKR could play the role of peacemaker.
“But at the same time we will not allow any political party or individual to hold us to ransom.”
He added that despite their different views, party members should not argue and break the strength that had been built through the various opposition pacts, Barisan Alternatif, Pakatan Rakyat and Pakatan Harapan.
At a press conference held later, however, he remained coy about who he was alluding to in any of his remarks.
“That’s what I meant, it could be any individual or any party. It could be Umno.”
The opposition wrested Selangor from Barisan Nasional (BN) in 2008.
Azmin’s speech tonight also comes in the wake of PAS’ decision last Thursday to sever political ties with PKR.
PAS accused PKR of violating the terms of its conditional cooperation, failing to support the Islamist party in its Islamic agenda, and working against it in the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections last year.
This led to PKR ordering all its political appointees in the PAS-led Kelantan government to step down immediately. -FMT
