'Slightly obese' Ku Nan flays 'lazy' Putrajaya residents

Putrajaya MP Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor flayed his constituents last night, for leading an unhealthy lifestyle.
While admitting that he was "slightly obese" himself, Tengku Adnan said there were many ways Putrajaya residents could exercise, but chose not to.
"Putrajaya is a garden city. You can jog, you can cycle. The view is beautiful.
"But when you go to work you want to drive. Walk la.
"If the car could go up on a lift you'd do it," he said in jest at a National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue in Putrajaya last night.
Tengku Adnan was responding to an audience member, who aspired for Putrajaya to cut its obesity rates by 2050.
Last year, it was reported in the 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) that Putrajaya had the highest percentage of overweight, obese and abdominally obese people in the country.
The study said 43 percent of the administrative capital's residents were obese, while 31 percent were overweight.

Earlier, Tengku Adnan lamented how Putrajaya residents needed to take better care of cleanliness at their residences.
"We provide places to throw rubbish, and people burn this," he said in shock.
However, he said he was not complaining, but merely pointing out things that need to be fixed.
The Umno secretary-general also said that Putrajaya was working to provide free wifi in the city.
He also hoped the administrative capital would become a smart city by 2050. - Mkini
