SHAH ALAM ― A PAS leader today outlined his party’s ambition to become adviser to the federal government, a role it aims to acquire by winning big in the 14th general election.
The Opposition Islamist party’s head researcher Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki said PAS wants to build its political clout by capturing a third of the states and use it to influence the national agenda.
“For now we do know we cannot take over federal power, not at GE14, Mohd Muhdi said at a PAS event here.
“Our short-term target is to become adviser to the government… by capturing five states and becoming a powerful pressure group,” he added.
