Puad: Harapan rejects Muhyiddin due to his hypocrisy

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president should get his house in order before talking about the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor, said Special Affairs Department director-general Mohd Puad Zarkashi.
Among others, Mohd Puad said Muhyiddin should come clean on his alleged affair with a married woman and explain his family's wealth, before "pretending" to be someone with high moral standing.
"Don't be a hypocrite because everyone knows what you are. This (hypocrisy) is the reason why Pakatan Harapan rejects you (as their leader)," said Mohd Puad in a statement today.
Muhyiddin has been accused of having an affair with one Nika Gee Siew Yee by the latter's former husband Stanley Clement Augustin. This was purportedly detailed in Augustin's two statutory declarations, as revealed by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin.
However, Muhyiddin had denied the allegations and accused his rivals of having to resort to "sex stories" to protect their political interest.
There are also allegations that Muhyiddin's relative had received favourable treatment from the government.
Muhyiddin has been contacted for a response to Mohd Puad's allegations.
Mohd Puad was responding to a statement by Muhyiddin yesterday which criticised attorney-general Apandi Ali for failing to take any action on the 1MDB affair, despite many jurisdictions abroad, including the US Department of Justice's (DOJ), having done so.
1MDB done nothing wrong
Meanwhile, Mohd Puad said that the DOJ's latest court filing last week does not incriminate Najib nor Rosmah in any way, nor were the duo defendants in the suit.
He said that the documents showed that those named in the DOJ document were Low Taek Szen, JW Hospitality (VHG Intl) Ltd, FFP (Cayman) Ltd, Mubadala Development Company PJSC, Viceroy Hotel Group and Jynwell Capital Ltd.
"Just as before, Muhyiddin is making unfounded accusations against Najib, although this civil (forfeiture) suit is only at the filing stage.
"There has been no court case and it is uncertain if there will even be a hearing. Therefore, no one has been proven guilty by the US courts," he said.
He stressed that 1MDB and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had verified that 1MDB money was not "stolen". Moreover, the recent settlement between International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic) had shown that 1MDB funds were used for business.

"There is no need for Muhyiddin to repeat an outdated script which has repeatedly failed to prove any wrongdoing. 1MDB is currently undergoing a smooth and successful rationalisation process which has helped pay a large portion of debts.
"1MDB's real estate projects such as Tun Razak Exchange is running smoothly and recently, HSBC, a major international bank, has agreed to invest RM1 billion there.
"The Bandar Malaysia project is also doing well with a company interested in investing RM40 billion in the project," said Mohd Puad.- Mkini
