KUALA LUMPUR – Prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said 1MDB had contributed a lot to the country, citing the examples of it donating tens of millions of ringgit annually to sponsor Muslims to pay their haj pilgrimage to Mecca, build houses for the people, provide relief funds for victims of natural disasters and education development.
He insisted that Malaysians should not seek to topple the BN government just because 1MDB had done anything wrong.
Najib said those who wanted the government to fall because of 1MDB were useless people, and that the “most useless” was none other than the former prime minister.
He stressed that only the Almighty could appraise the actions of a government leader.
