It Is Mahathir, Not Najib, Who Is Panicking

Mahathir knows it is no longer if but when he is going to take a hard fall and will get sent to jail. And that hard fall will be around the next general election. This he knows very well because he told his people and his family so. So he needs very drastically to create this impression that Najib is going for him and that the RCI on the Bank Negara forex losses is the means they are using to get him — not because he stole billions of Bank Negara’s money but because he is a threat to Najib, Umno and Barisan Nasional.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Sarawak Report a.k.a. Suara Mahathir and Malaysia Chronicle a.k.a. Suara Tian Chua both reported that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is currently in a state of panic. This co-called panic is the result of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad reconciling with Anwar Ibrahim, and this reconciliation was confirmed by Nurul Izzah Anwar who met Mahathir in London over Hari Raya.
Reconciliation, an English word meaning the restoration of friendly relations, the action of making one view or belief compatible with another, a situation in which two people become friendly again after they have argued or quarrelled, burying the hatchet, kissing and making up, sleeping in the same bed again, etc.
That, the opposition supporters and operators would like us to believe, is what happened between Mahathir and Anwar recently. If that happened only recently then what was going on these last two years or so? Did Mahathir not go to court twice to meet Anwar? Did not Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Ali go to Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s house for tea and to chit-chat? Do they mean during all that time Mahathir and Anwar had not reconciled yet? So what was happening over these last two years then?
What was this all about then if there was no reconciliation yet?
The problem is, during these last two years when Mahathir was visiting Anwar and Siti Hasmah was visiting Wan Azizah, Mahathir stopped short of doing what is necessary for a proper and genuine reconciliation to happen. And that necessary thing is to announce that Anwar did not commit sodomy and that he is a victim of trumped-up charges, fabricated evidence and a rigged trial.
Mahathir had to stop short of doing that or else he would be confessing to a crime. Mahathir would have to admit that he ordered the Chief Justice, the judges, the Attorney-General, the prosecutors, the IGP, the police officers, etc., to jail an innocent man.
In fact, Mahathir would not only be confessing to a crime, he would also be implicating dozens of other people in that crime as well. In short, since it involved more than one person, Mahathir would be confessing to a conspiracy because a crime involving more than one person tantamount to a conspiracy.
And this was what held back that reconciliation for the last two years although there were many meetings and statements being made, short of admitting that Anwar was not really guilty of sodomy but was fixed up on trumped-up charges, fabricated evidence and a rigged trial.
It is a sign of sheer desperation when Mahathir is prepared to go meet Anwar with his tail between his legs
So Mahathir was trying to wangle his way through this maze so that he can say without saying and do without doing and satisfy Anwar’s condition that he be declared not guilty of buggering. This was something very important to Anwar, more important than becoming Prime Minister.
Anwar needs his slate wiped clean and for the man (Mahathir) who revealed to the world that he (Anwar) is an immoral person who is not fit to become Prime Minister because of his many sex crimes to now say that all these allegations are lies and all those so-called crimes never happened.
If Mahathir does that he would be putting a gun to his head and would be pulling the trigger. In short, that is going to be suicide. The government can now set up a Special Task Force to investigate this political conspiracy and order a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to interrogate all those who at time were in the police, the judiciary and the AG Chambers and who fixed up Anwar and sent an innocent man to jail. Maybe 20 or more people are going to be implicated in this political conspiracy, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi included since Sodomy 2 happened in 2008.
So Mahathir was prepared to work with Anwar, Wan Azizah, PKR, and so on, as long as he needs not confess that he sent an innocent man to jail on fabricated evidence and trump-up charges of sodomy. If a confession is part of the deal then there will be no deal because Mahathir cannot confess to such a thing and then get sent to jail for the conspiracy. That crime would be the end of Mahathir and his entire family plus of about 20 or more other people who were part of that conspiracy.
In June 2012 Anwar told the forum that Tun Dr Mahathir, Tun Daim Zainuddin and Nor Mohamed Yakcop were the three who cost Malaysia US$10 billion gambling on the forex market
Now, however the situation has changed. Now the RCI set up to investigate the US$10 billion (equivalent to RM99 billion today) Bank Negara forex gambling losses is going to get to the bottom of this whole thing and Mahathir is going to get nailed good and proper. And Mahathir’s only get-out-of-jail card is Anwar. If Anwar testifies at the RCI and tells the truth then Mahathir is a dead man walking. Mahathir needs Anwar to continue to lie like he did back in 1993 and 1994. And that is what the so-called ‘reconciliation’ is really all about. Mahathir is trying to buy off Anwar.
Mahathir, in fact, said yesterday that the RCI is a witch-hunt to nail him and to send him to jail. Mahathir realises that the RCI Is going to find out what the Special Task Force has already discovered: which is a crime has been committed and that some of that US$10 billion are not genuine forex losses but was money siphoned out and disguised as forex losses.
So Mahathir has no choice. He now needs to appease Anwar and do what Anwar wants him to do to prevent him from testifying at the RCI and from telling the truth. Mahathir has to announce that Anwar is not really guilty of sodomy but is a victim of a political conspiracy and was unjustly sent to jail on trumped-up charges and fabricated evidence.
But Mahathir is clever. He never admitted that he is behind the conspiracy or is involved in it. He just said ‘the government’, leaving who in the government as vague. And he never said whether he is talking about Sodomy 1 or Sodomy 2. If it was Sodomy 1 then Mahathir would be the guilty party and if Sodomy 2 then Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Syed Hamid Albar and Abdul Gani Patail would be guilty.
Syed Hamid was Prime Minister Tun Abdullah’s Home Affairs Minister from 18th March 2008 to 9th April 2009 when they nailed Anwar for Sodomy 2
As it stands, Mahathir left all that vague so that the guilty parties would be vague as well. And Mahathir hopes that this will be enough to create an impression that he and Anwar have reconciled and that the reason the government is pursuing the RCI on the Bank Negara US$10 billion forex losses is because this reconciliation has sent Najib into a panic.
Actually it is the other way around. It is Mahathir who is panicking while Najib is cool. Najib knows for Mahathir to announce that Anwar is a victim of injustice (without naming who did it other than ‘the government’) that means Mahathir is scared shit. Mahathir knows the game is up and the clock is ticking.
Mahathir is ‘reconciling’ with Anwar because of the RCI on the Bank Negara forex losses and not that the RCI on the Bank Negara forex losses is because Mahathir is ‘reconciling’ with Anwar. So it is the other way around. Even then Mahathir is not really reconciling because he never said sorry or admitted that Anwar is a victim of trumped-up charges, fabricated evidence or a rigged trial and is thus innocent of the charges of sodomy. So, Mahathir’s words and deeds more or less suggest that Anwar was indeed guilty of sodomy.
And the only difference between now and then is that Mahathir no longer thinks that an immoral person should not become the Prime Minister of Malaysia. For purposes of ousting Najib it is not wrong for an immoral person becoming the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
