SHAH ALAM FOLK HISS & BOO AT ROSMAH, CLAP HANDS FOR MIRANDA KERR: HAS ROSMAH EVER DENIED BUYING RM117MIL DIAMOND?

THERE were cries of disbelief and this time it wasn’t over the mention of a certain diamond ring.
Audiences, numbering at least a thousand, broke out in laughter and shock when they were shown two paintings, one a uniform colour of red and the other, of yellow and blue.
“These two are my favourites. These are my favourites of all the paintings bought by Jho Low with your money. These were bought for US$79.5 million (RM320 million) on June 28, 2013,” said DAP’s Petaling Utara MP Tony Pua.
Pua was referring to the pair of Fonta and Rothko paintings sought by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) bought with money allegedly stolen from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“The yellow and blue one is probably Jho Low’s favourite. It looks like the Penang flag. Maybe Jho Low misses home. He just needs to add a coconut tree in the painting,” Pua said.
Earlier, the crowd also broke out in laughter when they were shown the surrealist Dustheads painting by Busquiat, allegedly bought for RM48.8 million on May 15, 2013.
Also present were Bersatu chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP national adviser Lim Kit Siang.
This is the second stop of a road show by Pakatan Harapan (PH) to explain the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal to Malay Muslims, who are key voters in the next general election.
The ceramah is also the first programme by the coalition after it announced its leadership line-up.
The crowds were overwhelmingly Malay and many were dressed in opposition colors of red, orange and blue.

Many hissed and booed when Pua went through a list of a purchases by the wife of “Malaysian Official 1”.
They include a giant artist’s impression of the US$27.3 million (RM117 million) pink diamond allegedly belonging to the person was prominently displayed along with a giant portrait of her.
“I want to ask you if she has ever denied buying a diamond worth RM117 million. She has never denied it. She only said this was politically motivated. She only said this was foreign intervention. But she never denied it. Just deny it! Just deny it!
“She should have said ‘I will challenge you (the opposition). If you repeat those lies, I will sue you. But she has been silent.”
The Equanimity yacht, allegedly bought by Jho Low in May 2014 for US$250 million (RM1.1 billion) with stolen 1MDB money, also received the same treatment.
Audiences also clapped when Pua said Jho Low’s former love interest Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr returned the jewellery gifted to her to US authorities.
Pua was last in Shah Alam last April, when presenting his findings on the PAC report on 1MDB.
He reiterated that based on DoJ’s findings, a US$3 billion loan to 1MDB was guaranteed by the Prime Minister’s Office, and that US$835 million was transferred from 1MDB to Tanore Finance Corporation.
Incidentally, US$681 million was then transferred to Prime Minister Najib Razak’s account days later. Najib has maintained his innocence and said that the sum was a donation from the Saudi royal family.
Pua estimated the total debts linked to 1MDB to be RM41.7 billion.
Meanwhile, Lim said the pink diamond necklace worth RM117 million, could finance at least 10,000 people for the Haj.
“The cost of sending these people (for Haj) is only 0.1% of the cost of the scandal,”
“I wonder how many people would have to die for this scandal,” Lim added, describing the roadshow as a “holy” cause to reclaim Malaysia from the ruling government.
