Zuraida: I didn't help firm that owes rent to Yayasan Selangor

PKR's Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin has denied allegations that she acted as a mediator to assist a company in attempts to convince Yayasan Selangor to forgive the company's debt.
"The statement made by the NGO Impak is baseless and irrational. Further, the claim is irresponsibly made, on the basis of a poison pen letter," she told Malaysiakini.
Zuraida accused the group of being instigated by the BN coalition, with the purpose of tarnishing the Selangor government's reputation.
Pertubuhan Inspirasi Melayu Gombak (Impak) president Zul Azhari Mohamed Juah submitted an open letter on the issue to Yayasan Selangor yesterday, after allegedly receiving information in a poison- pen letter.

The letter, he said, alleged that the MP and a former state legislator served as negotiators for the firm to resolve the outstanding rental due for four premises in a building.
In 2013, the then Selangor menteri besar, Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, ordered that legal action to be taken in relation to the debt.
The following year, Khalid was replaced by PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as menteri besar.- Mkini
