Dr M claims Najib's fear of defeat behind ROS' 'no answer'

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has accused Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak of attempting to derail the formation of a coalition between rival parties.
He said this is the reason the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has not given an approval for Pakatan Harapan despite an application submitted months ago.
According to Mahathir, the method is simple where officially, there is no confirmation of an approval or rejection.
“There is... no answer, (the application is) still being considered. Yet to approve is no different from not approving.
“ROS does not reply the letter. Wait for the minister. Minister goes missing. There but not there. So cannot answer.
“One month, two months, a quarter of a year, half a year. No answer. Not rejected, just no answer,” added the former premier.
Mahathir, who is Harapan chairperson, also did not discount the possibility of the ROS giving the green light five minutes before Najib (photo) dissolves Parliament for the next general election.

An eleventh-hour approval, he said, would place the coalition in a conundrum.
“The people will not recognise the logo and symbol. So they will be confused when voting.
“The campaign will also face problems, there will be no banners, flags, slogans and introducing candidates (to voters) and so forth,” he added.
Mahathir claimed that Najib's hope is that the voters would not be able to cast their ballots for the opposition and that BN would not be defeated in the polls.
“But BN will lose. The people are not stupid. They know everything,” he said.
Mahathir then reiterated his allegations that Najib had siphoned 1MDB funds and RM2.6 billion went into the prime minister's accounts.
The prime minister has denied abusing public funds for personal gain and blamed Mahathir for attempting to topple him from power to achieve his personal political ambitions.
Meanwhile, Mahathir also said that Najib should be afraid.
“Najib! You should be afraid. Your sins will bring defeat in this world. That is the fate which awaits you. Yes. You should be afraid. Those who sin will face retribution in the afterlife,” he added.
Yesterday, it was reported that the Home Ministry cited problems faced by Bersatu and DAP as the cause for the delay in registering the Harapan coalition.- Mkini
