Anwar hopes Rafizi, Azmin can work together

De facto PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his hope that party deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali and vice-president Rafizi Ramli can work together.
"Given the choice, I want both of them – as they are doing now – to support the reform agenda and work together," he said in an interview with Oriental Daily.
Anwar noted that Rafizi can sometimes be critical, but that is no reason to end his political career.
"Rafizi is a smart young man (who) initiated Invoke as an example of how he could mobilise young people.
"But this young man has every right to express his views. He differs, sometimes he is even critical of me, and okay, I get a bit angry, but then I respond.
"But you must allow those people to mushroom and not kill them off politically like what the previous government did," he said.
Azmin and Rafizi have long been at odds, and both have their respective supporters within the party.
Rafizi was previously the PKR secretary-general, but resigned from the post after disputes with Azmin's supporters.
He later formed Invoke and assisted PKR from outside the party structure.
His outfit was among those which came closest to predicting the exact outcome of the 14th general election.
After Harapan won in the polls, Rafizi had criticised Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad for allegedly not consulting PKR on the appointment of ministers.
He also clarified that he was not seeking any government positions, to ensure there was no vested interest in speaking up for the party. -Mkini
