Najib's residence: Cops leave with plastic box, MACC officers arrive

Eight MACC officers arrived at the residence of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak on Jalan Langgak Duta in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

The officers arrived in two separate cars about 4pm.

The officers left Najib's house after nearly two hours. Seven of the officers were not seen carried any bags or documents as they left, but only a woman carrying a handbag.

While one car was seen leaving straightaway, the other later turned back to Najib's residence.

The second car left five minutes later.

Their main purpose for their two-hour stay at Najib's house was not immediately known. The group did not speak to the media.

Earlier, a news portal reported that police personnel who arrived in four cars this morning left some six hours later with a blue plastic box, the contents of which are unknown.

Bloomberg reported today that MACC is investigating Najib for possible abuse of power when he was prime minister.

Yesterday, the federal police Commercial Crimes Department seized 72 bags of cash and jewellery as well as 284 boxes of designer handbags.

Police have declined to confirm reports that 100kg of gold bars were seized and the cash in various currencies amounted to RM100 million. -Mkini
