Civil servants who sabotage or leak information will be prosecuted if there is sufficient evidence warned attorney-general Tommy Thomas.
Acknowledging the existence of this problem, he noted how Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had told the media that he was concerned about civil servants leaking information to the previous government.
"If you ask any minister, they are facing the same problem as well. This is due to the civil servants being too long under the previous regime (BN).
"I am sure there may be some prosecution on this," he added during a question and answer session at a briefing organised by the Malaysian Bar in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
Thomas said he has yet to receive the investigation papers on such leaks when questioned by reporters later as to when the prosecution would be made.
