Former Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein had met with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Putrajaya.
According to a well-placed source, the two-hour meeting took place yesterday but he declined to reveal what was discussed.
Mahathir's media adviser A Kadir Jasin also hinted about the meeting.
In a Facebook posting, Kadir said: “Assalamuailaikum Datuk Seri Hishamuddin, nak tanya, semalam pergi Putrajaya jumpa siapa? (I wish to ask, who did you meet in Putrajaya yesterday)”
News of the meeting comes as two former Umno ministers – Mustapha Mohamed and Anifah Aman- resigned from Umno.
Speculation is rife that more MPs and assemblypersons would follow suit.
