ANWAR Ibrahim today met with Daim Zainuddin, their second meeting in 10 days, as some of the PKR president-elect’s party members continue to claim that the Council of Eminent Person chairman was trying to prevent Anwar from becoming the next prime minister.
Anwar posted a tweet about the meeting but did not disclose the location.
“Discussion with Tun Daim on the current economic conditions and the strengthening of Bumiputera agencies,” he tweeted.
Both met on September 8 and on that occasion, Anwar shared a photo on his Facebook page.
On that meeting, Anwar said the men also discussed a number of contemporary development.
He, however, did not state any other detail of their meeting.
The duo are seen laughing and looking comfortable with each other in the photo, contrary to speculations made by some within PKR that Daim is allegedly plotting to stop Anwar from taking over from Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Daim has rubbished such talks, saying he enjoyed a good working relationship with Anwar.
“I don’t know where they got the idea that I don’t want (Anwar to become prime minister). Who am I? I am more than 80 years old… I don’t have any party. You are telling me the cabinet is going to listen (to me)?” he was quoted as saying recently.
Daim also said he met Anwar six times while the latter was behind bars, as well as after his release.
Under an agreement in Pakatan Harapan, Anwar is set to replace Dr Mahathir.
