PAS claims deputy minister used his position to get at least five vehicles

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the Pahang Forestry Department four-wheel drive, found to have been used for Pakatan Harapan's by-election campaign in Cameron Highlands, was one of five such vehicles.
Tuan Ibrahim claimed a deputy minister had used his powers to instruct the vehicles to be loaned for an Orang Asli program and questioned if the remaining four vehicles have ended up being used for Harapan's election campaign.
"It is understood that five Pahang Forestry Department vehicles were loaned to the deputy minister in the capacity of his position, based on an instruction letter issued by his office intended for a meet the Orang Asli program.
"To date, only one vehicle has been discovered to have been used for campaigning. Where are the other four loaned vehicles?" he asked in a statement today.
Yesterday, Pahang state secretary Sallehuddin Ishak confirmed the loan for official use to a deputy minister and instructed for them to be returned after a vehicle was found to have been plastered with Harapan flags in Cameron Highlands.
However, he did not reveal who the deputy minister was.
Tuan Ibrahim criticised Harapan for failing to walk the talk on not abusing government machinery.
"Many Harapan leaders are now in government but unfortunately we have not seen a cleaner and fairer election even though they have been in power for nine months.
"More disappointing is that they are doing the same thing they had criticised BN of doing," he said. - Mkini
