The 72-Year Old Umno Is Dying Of Old Age

And that is why Umno no longer has the support of the Malays. Only needy Malays need Umno, like back in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Today’s Malays no longer need Umno because they no longer live in the kampung or live off the land. Umno has given the Malays an education and these educated Malays live in the towns and cities. And anywhere in the world people who live in towns and cities are rude and arrogant and will tell you to go fook yourself.

NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
What many do not realise is, Umno is a victim of its own success. This is a predicament not only in Malaysia but the world over. China, the latest member to ‘The Club of Wealthy Nations’, is rapidly discovering that wealth brings with it its own set of problems.
Around 72 years ago on 11th May 1946, when Umno was formed, the party served a purpose and was relevant to its time. But 72 years is a long time and Umno is now a senior citizen. In the UK, if you are 72 years old, you can ride the bus and train without having to pay anything and you can go to the movies (or go to watch football), or buy certain things, with a senior citizens’ discount.
But Umno’s problem is not only old age and the problems associated with old age, such as death. Umno is also a victim of its own success.

These type of Malays need the government and cannot afford to tell you (or Umno) to go fook yourself

In 1946, the Malays were predominantly peasants (farmers, fishermen, etc.) with less than 1% of the population in the elite or intelligentsia class (and it was this class of Malays who started Umno, not the ‘normal’ Malays in the kampung).
Over time, due to government policies, the NEP (New Economic Policy) included, Malays were brought out of the kampung and given an education. Others were sent to the new Felda land schemes that the government set up for those Malays who still wished to live off the land. (In fact, Felda was started by the British in July 1956, one year before Merdeka).
That was 63 years ago. After more than half a century, fewer Malays need to remain in the kampung. Many have migrated to the towns and cities while, from less than 1% in 1957, today 25% of the Malays have received a college or tertiary education (and 100% of the Malays have gone to school).

Umno’s success in bringing the Malays out of the kampung and into the towns and cities is its own undoing

So, Malays no longer need Umno, especially the large population of the Malays in the towns and cities. Malays also no longer need to be humble like most Malays in the kampung. Malays can afford to be rude and arrogant like most people in the towns and cities anywhere in the world.
This is the price you pay for success. Once you are educated, you have money, you have position and/or power, you can afford to tell people to go fook themselves.
I mean, take me as an example. I am a member of the Royal Family and my cousin is the Sultan of Selangor. So, do you think I care what the Chinese, Indians and others (or even the other Malays) think of me?
These type of Malays have money and can afford to tell you to go fook yourself
I say what I like and if you do not like what I say (or think I am a racist) you can just go fook yourself. I do not need to be nice to you because I do not need you and you are not important to me. In fact, I consider Chinese and Indians as descendants of immigrants who were of the lowest class in their society and in their own country were regarded as pariahs (which is why they ran away from China and India to come to Malaya).
And this is also how other Malays who no longer live in the kampung (because of what Umno has done for them) think as well. So, I am just echoing the thoughts of most Malays. And these Malays not only tell the Chinese and Indians to go fook themselves, they also tell Umno to go fook itself.
