Hajiji set to be named Sabah PPBM chief?

Former Sabah Umno chief Hajiji Noor.
KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Umno chief Hajiji Noor is expected to be appointed interim chairman of the Sabah PPBM chapter.
Sources told FMT today that Hajiji should be given the post as he is the leader who led a mass exodus from Sabah Umno on Dec 12 last year.
This saw nine out of the 10 assemblymen, five out of six MPs and two senators leave Umno.
Former chief minister and Sungai Sibuga assemblyman Musa Aman and Kalabakan MP Bung Moktar Radin were not involved in the exodus.
Bung Moktar has since been appointed Sabah Umno chief.
One of the nine assemblymen who left, Musbah Jamli (Tempasuk), later joined Warisan.
The others, who became independents, applied to join PPBM a few weeks ago.
The eight assemblymen are Hajiji (Sulaman), Masidi Manjun (Karanaan), Isnin Aliasnih (Klias), Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Apas), Mohd Arifin Arif (Membakut), Ghulam Khan Bahadar (Kawang), Matbali Musah (Lumadan) and Japlin Akim (Usukan).
The five MPs, who are also reported to have applied to join PPBM, are former deputy minister Azizah Mohd Dun (Beaufort), Public Accounts Committee chairman Ronald Kiandee (Beluran), Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat), Zakaria Edris (Libaran) and Yamani Hafez Musa (Sipitang), who is also Musa’s son.
It is understood that the independents will issue an official statement after a meeting on Feb 23. They are waiting for Hajiji to return from his pilgrimage.

The group is expected to bring in more than 100,000 supporters from Sabah Umno into PPBM. - FMT
