Support for Najib in Semenyih shows BN can win - PAS

The warm welcome former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak received in Semenyih two nights ago is a sign that it's possible for BN to win the upcoming by-election, said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
"I see a wave happening, though it remains to be seen how it will translate at the ballot box.
"Najib's arrival in Semenyih had an extraordinary response among the youth.
"It is a change that is clearly being shown by voters, and in this scenario, it is not impossible for BN to win big," Tuan Ibrahim said a press conference in Kota Bharu last night.
Najib was welcomed by some 1,000 people and shouts of "Malu apa Bossku (My boss has nothing to be ashamed of)" and "Boss kita (Our boss)" when he went to a supermarket in Semenyih on Wednesday.
Tuan Ibrahim said the by-election will likely be a tough fight, but hopes that the BN-PAS cooperation will pay off as it did in Cameron Highlands.
He said both he and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang will support and help BN's candidate in the by-election.
BN yesterday unveiled former Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) administrative officer Zakaria Hanafi as its candidate for the March 2 polls.
He will be facing 30-year old Muhammad Aiman Zainali from Bersatu, who is the son-in-law of the deceased Semenyih incumbent assemblyperson Bakhtiar Mohd Nor.
Also in the ring is PSM Youth member Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul. Social activist Kuan Chee Heng has also expressed an interest to contest as an independent in Semenyih.
Nomination day for the by-election is tomorrow. - Mkini
