MAS wants to be part of balik kampung journey, runs campaign to unite families for Raya

PETALING JAYA: The balik kampung journey is what most Malaysians will look forward to every festive season.
To capture that happiness, especially with the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Malaysia Airlines released a special Hari Raya video on Sunday (May 20).
Titled "Sama-Sama Balik Raya (Let's go back for Raya)", the two-minute, 40-second video delves into the question as to why we travel miles to return home for the celebration although we feel that the experience is similar each time.
Malaysia Airlines Group chief executive officer Izham Ismail said the answer is what warms our hearts as Malaysians.

“And as an airline, it is Malaysian hospitality.

“The festivity begins the moment we start our journey home. We see the same people, we visit familiar places, and eat the same food.
“We take pride in being a part of our guests’ balik kampung journey.
“To us, nothing is more rewarding than to ensure they arrive home safely and be reunited with their families and loved ones for the festive season,” he said in a statement Monday (May 20).
The festive video can be viewed on Malaysia Airlines’ official social media channels.
In the spirit of Hari Raya, Malaysia Airlines is also running a social media campaign, #MHFundMyBalikKampung to unite families for the festive season until May 29.
The winner with the most unique caption and the most votes will win return tickets home on Malaysia Airlines for Hari Raya this year.
To join, participants will have to post a photo with a caption of their balik kampung story on Instagram.
They have to share the reason they are unable to go home to their loved ones and include both departure and arrival destinations in the caption.
Tag the campaign at @MHFundMyBalikKampung and include the hashtags #MalaysiaAirlines and #MHFundMyBalikKampung in the caption.
Participants must also make sure their profile is set to public until May 30 for their submissions to be eligible.
Malaysia Airlines will repost the photos and caption on the @MHFundMyBalikKampung profile where participants can invite friends and family to vote by liking it once their posts have been featured.
Malaysia Airlines also reminded passengers travelling this festive season to do web check-ins by logging on www.malaysiaairlines.com, or via its app, to avoid long queues at the airport.
Passengers are also encouraged to arrive at least four hours earlier at KL International Airport (KLIA) and three hours at other domestic airports before their scheduled departure time in order to clear all travel formalities.- Star
