Source: Kelantan MB and excos got RM50k 'bonus' each

In addition to receiving a Mercedes-Benz, Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob and 13 of his executive councillors have allegedly received a RM50,000 bonus.
According to a source, who has knowledge of the matter but declined to be named, the amount was given during the second week of this month.
“It is not right for state civil servants to only receive a bonus of RM1,000 when the state executive councillors get RM50,000.
“The RM50,000 for the state government’s top-line leaders was not announced, unlike the bonus (for civil servants). But everyone knows about it and is disappointed.

“The state government always talks about being frugal in administrating the state but each of them has received an RM50,000 bonus,” the source said.
The state government previously announced that civil servants’ RM500 bonus would be doubled to RM1,000.
When contacted, Deputy Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Abdullah confirmed the RM50,000 amount but denied it was a bonus. He instead termed it a "special allocation" (pemberian khas).
“It was not a bonus because we don’t deserve a bonus like civil servants. This was a ‘special allocation’ following our achievements in relation to state revenue.
“This special allocation has nothing to do with the RM400 million allocation from the federal government.
“The menteri besar and exco members received this special allocation. But this does not happen all the time. This year we received the most but we might not get anything next year,” Mohd Amar said.
Putrajaya previously gave the PAS-led state government a one-off allocation of RM400 million to improve the welfare of the people.
It was recently revealed that the state government invested in 14 Mercedes-Benz cars, including a premium S450 L AMG valued at more than RM600,000 for the menteri besar.
Like the RM50,000 special allocation, Mohd Amar also refuted allegations that the one-off allocation from Putrajaya was used to purchase the luxury vehicles. - Mkini
