Seven nabbed for tossing liquor bottles from apartment balcony onto expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven individuals were detained in connection with throwing liquor bottles from a high-rise apartment in Kampung Baru onto an expressway.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said four men, aged between 20 and 23, along with two 23-year-old women and a 31-year-old woman were detained in the Dang Wangi areas on Saturday (Feb 4) and early Sunday (Feb 5) morning.

"We also seized a mobile phone and a set of clothing. All of them were workers of an entertainment outlet. Two of those detained have been remanded until Tuesday (Feb 7)," he said when contacted on Sunday.

The case is being investigated under Section 268 and 336 of the Penal Code as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, he said.

"One of those detained tested positive for ketamine and he is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952," he added.

ACP Noor Dellhan urged those who were affected by the incident to lodge a police report as soon as possible.

"We advise the public not to be involved with any illegal acts as stern action will be taken," he said.

A 1-minute 43-second video, which was uploaded on Tik Tok on Thursday, had gone viral showing a man throwing liquor bottles from a balcony of an apartment onto a nearby expressway as the road was congested.

The incident occurred at Jalan Cendana in Kampung Baru. - Star
