Self-praise is no praise: PMX mocked for uploading self-glorifying video of his “toiling for Malaysians”

I’M AWARE that no human is perfect and there are still shortcomings that I constantly reflect upon.

Yet, this trust I bear with my whole heart and soul for every step taken is to ensure that the future of the nation and homeland is always well-protected.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim might have scored some brownie points from hardcore Madani backers for his latest, slightly more than a minute long clip depicting his hard work to literally make Malaysia what it is today since assuming the mandate as the country’s 10th premier.

But certainly not from detractors who are today not made upof merely opposition-slant cybertroopers but also from many disgruntled reformasi diehards who have deserted his PKR party in favour of the newly-revived BERSAMA spearheaded by his supposedly once lieutenant Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.

The proof is in the pudding with an almost across-the-board thumbs down as gauged from the video on X which has amassed 339.9K views at the time of writing.

Except perhaps one or two bouquets from renowned pro-Madani keyboard warrior such as JOKER 🔺(@tjerealjoker) who claimed that “nobody can ever replace PMX”, it was as if searching for a needle in a haystack to look for others who share JOKER’s thought.

“What self-reflection? A son of MP (referring to Rafizi who was then the Pandan MP) was attacked yet nothing happened to date,” snubbed vocal Madani critic Madam K 🐈‍⬛ BERSAMA@MU (@oreo_koshka330).

“Investigation into (former graft buster Tan Sri) Azam Baki shares still not announced. Corporate mafia continues to remain silent. Say something but always act differently. That’s all you do.”

Reminding PMX that “the internet keeps receipts”, one commenter asked PMX “what is the value of a leader if his words aren’t kept while the trust accorded to him is constantly been betrayed”.

Others passed the verdict that PMX has been given a chance to preserve harmony the interests of the rakyat “yet you screw up” till he has “to beg for sympathy now”.

“Whatever it is, you’re just the same as other politicians. Good luck to you in PRU 16 (16th General Election),” lamented one commenter.

Another observed that PMX is fortunate that “the current opposition is not aggressive, nor creative and vert much like a clawless tiger”.

“So the current government is less challenged by facts & ideas. The opposition is still in deep slumber … they’ll play up racial issues when GE16 comes for they’re lazy to dig up other issues”.

Another expressed regret that he has supported PMX since 1998. “I’m done,” she quipped.

The criticism levelled at PMX was more severe on the highly popular satirical and  political parody group, Tentera Troll Kebangsaan Malaysia’s, Facebook page which claimed that “never before have the nine previous PMs made videos showing off their hard work”.

One lady commenter echoed the poster’s sentiment by describing PMX as “the first PM to lift the basket by himself (in line with the Malay proverb angkat bakul which simply means praising or boasting about oneself)”.

Amid the torrent of brickbats, one commenter summed up best – “No need to show off one is working hard. Let the results speak for themselves. People who are too OBSESSED to be seen and appreciated are of ZERO VALUE 😉”
