'It's theft if the bibles are not returned'

YOURSAY 'There is no case, hence Jais has no reason to hold on to them.'

Masing raises worry about Mais and Jais

Myop101: Firstly, there is no case (in the matter involving the seizure of the bibles from the Bible Society of Malaysia), hence no court ruling and by default, no contempt of court.

Secondly, the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the only office that decides on cases for prosecution on behalf of the government, considers that the Bible Society of Malaysia did not violate the enactment (Non-Islamic Religion (Control of Propagation Among Muslims) Enactment 1988).

Thirdly, this is, in all fairness, considered outright theft if Jais refuses to return the bibles, which it has no further reason to hold onto.

This is also considered as abuse of power since they continue to disregard all norms and procedures concerning seized items which they have to return to the rightful owner, as there is no case to begin with.

Angelababy: Lodge a police report against Mais and Jais for theft of property or misappropriation of property.

Pakatan Rakyat should do something about Selangor MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who has been dragging his feet recently on this matter.

Katusha: "Nobody is above the law," said Parti Rakyat Sarawak  president James Masing.

How ridiculous can he be when it has been proven that Isma, Jais, Mais, Perkasa, Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and what have you, are all above the law, for they can say whatever they like with impunity.

Adsertor: Thank you Masing, for speaking out. Better late than never. Please organise the MPs of Sarawak and Sabah to put pressure on the federal government to take action against all these bigots and freaks.

Doc Malaysia: This is like the Titanic and it's sinking fast. On board this ill-fated Titanic, we have James Masing asking: "We are we heading?"

Meow: Masing, please climb on the "rumah panjang" (longhouses) to tell those in Sabah and Sarawak not to vote for the BN parties.

All these Jais, Mais and all the "ais" are behaving like this because of the Sabahans and Sarawakians vote for BN.

Headhunter: Is Masing forgetting that he's also part of the BN under whose watch all this is happening?
Malaccan: Brave words but of little real substance. Although Masing is to be credited to be one of a very few who have dared to speak up, he is shouting loudly in his little pond.

Unfortunately he is hardly heard elsewhere. I wish he would and could speak at the national level but I guess a little squeak is better than no whimper at all.

Disbeliever: How to return the seized bibles? Mais/Jais could have disposed them in the fire a long time ago as they did not expect the AG to close the case.

In this scenario, how to announce that the bibles have already been destroyed? This would expose them to the greatest embarrassment.

So the best way out would be to state that they will not return the bibles as they need them as proof that Bible Society of Malaysia had committed an offence despite the fact that the AG has found no case.

My Opinion: We agree forgiveness is divine but all government authorities are conferred by God to ensure evil action is prevented through the enforcement of the law.

To sue Mais is not to be seen as retribution but a good deterrent to would-be law breakers and protect other non-Muslim brothers from future harm from these Mais bigots.

Ketuanan Rakyat: As usual Umnoputeras are behind the scene when religious issues are exploited to create problems. Where are their cronies in MCA and MIC? Gerakan has lost it voice suddenly. Are Umnoputeras trying to drag in the sultan on this matter?

Bert: Indeed, are there no right thinking, sensible, ministers in the government? Where are the voices of MCA, Gerakan and MIC?

This only involves the Christians, so why bother - is that the case? Are they only good at bashing the opposition when there is an opportunity?

What has happened to the premier who is supposed to be premier for all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion? Has he lost his voice?

Dizzer: 'Freaks and bigots' is putting it gently. It goes without saying that the actions of the Islamic 'authorities' are unconscionable.

But let's not forget that Christian (and Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist) authorities throughout history have exercised the same levels of intolerance, stupidity, and inhumanity towards 'unbelievers'.

This is why religions should never be allowed to exercise power over individual citizens. It also goes without saying, that all religions provide equally irrational insights into the unreal.

MinahBulat: Come on Masing. It’s as though you do not know that your state is a BN fixed deposit. BN can do anything they like to Sarawak and Sabah and there is nothing you can do.

You are in the government and you sit together with that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Islamic affairs, Jamil Khir Baharom, at cabinet meetings. Did you voice your protest?

I suppose you did whimper like what you are doing. A bit too late, but I expected you to be punchier with your statement. -Mkini
