Hundreds of AirAsia passengers held up by glitch when checking in

Hundreds of AirAsia passengers were held up by a technical glitch in its check-in system at the KL International Airport 2 (KIA2) in Sepang today.
According to Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd (MAHB) spokesperson, the problem began at 10am, but was resolved 30 minutes later.
"The passengers were not stranded, just temporarily held up by the glitch on the check-in system," he told Bernama when contacted in Sepang.
Meanwhile, an AirAsia spokesperson said the airline was experiencing a steep increase in the number of passengers at the KLIA2 during this school holiday.
"We normally deal with 30,000 passengers daily, but during this school holiday, the number of passengers has increased to 40,000 daily," he said.
Earlier, the airline had also issued a travel advisory encouraging passengers to arrive at the airport least three hours prior to their scheduled departure to avoid congestion as travelling formalities such as customs and immigration clearance and security checks might take longer than usual during this peak travel period.
