Penang MIC Youth today lodged a police report against Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) state information chief Yaakob Osman over a statement of alleged racial nature on his Facebook page.
Its deputy chief M Sethubathi called on the police to act against Yaakob, who is also Bersatu Nibong Tebal division chief because he said the latter's statement had insulted the Indian community.
He spoke to reporters after making the report at the North East district police headquarters in Georgetown.
Sethubathi said MIC Youth wanted Yaakob to withdraw the statement and apologise.
The Penang Front Party also lodged a police report on the matter through its chairperson Patrick Ooi.
