BN's Permatang assemblyperson Sulaiman Abdul Razak complained that five of the state opposition's motions, including one to debate on the Oktoberfest, was rejected by the Selangor state assembly.
"There were a number of issues that needed to be debated.
"The state assembly speaker should have considered them," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
Sulaiman said he had personally submitted a motion on strengthening the syariah courts in relation to infrastructure and human resource.
The motion on Oktoberfest was submitted by Dengkil assemblyperson Shahrum Mohd Sharif.
The other three motions that were rejected, were on Selangor signing the Corruption-Free Pledge by Sungai Burong assemblyperson Mohd Shamsudin Lias, Yayasan Selangor by Kuang assemblyperson Abdul Sukor Idrus and abuse of entertainment licences by Jeram assemblyperson Amiruddin Setro.
Sulaiman said the state assembly should have allowed the motions in line with the democratic principles as espoused by Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.- Mkini
