PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali was today sworn in for his second consecutive term as Selangor's menteri besar after Pakatan Harapan retained the state in the 14th general election with a supermajority.
The ceremony before Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was held at the Balairong Seri of Istana Alam Shah in Klang this afternoon.
In the ceremony, Azmin took two oaths - one for the menteri besar position, followed by another to be inducted as a member of the Selangor Royal Council.
Azmin, who successfully defended his Bukit Antarabangsa state seat and Gombak parliamentary seat in the May 9 polls, is the 15th Selangor menteri besar.
In the 14th general election, Harapan captured 51 out of 56 state seats in Selangor, leaving the opposition bench to be made up of four BN state assemblypersons and one from PAS.
Harapan candidates also captured 20 out of 22 parliamentary seats in Selangor. - Mkini
