PETALING JAYA: Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal will be summoned by the party’s disciplinary board in relation to recent statements made, including his speech in front of the Dang Wangi police station yesterday accusing PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali of “unnatural sex”.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said Farhash, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and a few other PKR members will be called to face the board.
He said the political bureau decided that they would be referred to the disciplinary board in relation to the statements they have made.
“We will wait for the full statement by the disciplinary board,” he told reporters after a political bureau meeting at PKR headquarters tonight.
“I think there is a list — it is not just Farhash,” he added.
Farhash, who is also the political secretary of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, had earlier questioned his police remand in connection with the gay sex video probe.
“They could have just called me to get my statement. No police report has been lodged against me in the first place. Anyway, I don’t look like (economic affairs minister) Azmin Ali.
“So why couldn’t the cops just call me? I would have given my statement,” he said after his release from police remand in front of the Dang Wangi police station yesterday.
Shortly after his release, he gave a speech to a group of supporters outside the police station, shouting “Anwar for PM” and “Azmin semburit”.
Semburit means sexual acts between two men.
PKR women’s chief Haniza Talha later called for disciplinary action against Farhash for using a homosexual label on Azmin when addressing supporters.
“This is an open accusation in front of the crowd and media against the party’s number two leader. This warrants disciplinary action,” she told FMT.
Farhash, in a statement today, said during his eight-day custody, he was asked a series of questions “unrelated to the video or the distribution of any illegal material”.
He said he was convinced that his arrest was to create a negative public perception against his boss, Anwar, adding that he was considered a convenient “buffer”.
According to sources, besides Farhash and Amirudin, an aide to Azmin, Khalid Jaafar, would also be called up by the disciplinary board.
The source said that Amirudin would be summoned in relation to his speech made at a solat hajat event at his home last weekend. - FMT
