4WD driver, girlfriend remanded after incident at Ramadan bazaar

The four-wheel-drive vehicle went in circles and hit stalls at a Ramadan bazaar in Bukit Sentosa, Hulu Selangor.
PETALING JAYA: A 32-year-old man and his foreign girlfriend have been remanded for investigations after ramming into stalls at a Ramadan bazaar in Bukit Sentosa, Hulu Selangor.
Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said the two suspects were detained for alleged attempt to murder under Section 307 of Penal Code, as well as disorderly conduct at a police station under Section 90 of Police Act.
“The magistrate allowed us to remand the man for five days from today until Wednesday.
“The female suspect will be held in custody for 14 days from today until June 6 because she does not possess any valid travel documents,” he said.
Fadzil said the 25-year-old woman is a Myanmar and was arrested with the male suspect after the incident.
Last night, videos of the vehicle trying to ram into shoppers and traders at the bazaar went viral.
The videos showed chaotic scenes as the vehicle sped towards a stall, amid screams from the crowd.
The truck then reversed at high speed, appearing to hit at least one person.
Several Rela personnel and bystanders could be seen hitting the truck with objects to try and stop it.

The truck then drove in circles, apparently trying to find an exit, before fleeing the area. - FMT
