The Health Ministry reported 24,241 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative cases to 3,951,678.
It also reported 59 new Covid-19 deaths, of which 13 were brought in dead.
The new infections yesterday according to states are as follows:

Active cases currently stood at 294,367, down 5.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.
The new deaths yesterday were reported in Perak (15), Selangor (12), Johor (11), Kelantan (6), Malacca (5), Pahang (3), Negeri Sembilan (2), Penang (2), Sarawak (2) and Kedah (1), .
Over the past week, an average of 85.9 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 68.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 34,244 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There has been 1,495 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 771 deaths last month and 491 deaths in January.
Malaysia has the highest number of deaths per capita in the Asean and East Asian regions with 997 deaths per 1 million population, and fourth-worst in Asia after Iran, Lebanon and Jordan – all in the Middle East.
There are 7,600 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 383 are in intensive care. - Mkini
