PETALING JAYA: An apparent attempt to abduct a 47-year-old woman was thwarted when she struggled with four men in front of her house in Taman Lagenda Putra, Kulai, Johor, on Sunday.
She was punched and dragged along the road to force her into a waiting car, according to Kulai police chief Tan Seng Lee, Bernama reported.
He said the woman’s screams alerted her husband who found his wife with injuries to her lips, hands and feet.
She lodged a police report at about 9.30pm the same day. However, she could not remember the car’s registration number.
Tan denied a Facebook post that the woman was sexually molested and advised the public to refrain from speculating on the matter as it could create panic and threaten public order.
“We are identifying those believed to be involved in the incident and the case is being investigated under Sections 363, 511 and 232 of the Penal Code.
“Those with information regarding the incident are urged to go to the nearest police station or contact investigating officer R Arun at 013-3332385,” he said.
