Malaysia’s world No 9 pair lose in straight games to Daniel Lundgaard–Mads Vestergaard in the men’s doubles final.

PETALING JAYA: National shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani fell short of winning the men’s doubles title at the Malaysia Masters final today, losing to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard.
The world No 9 pair went down 16-21, 17-21 to the 19th-ranked Danish duo in a match lasting 42 minutes at the Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil, despite strong home support.
The defeat was a huge disappointment for Sze Fei-Izzuddin, who were chasing a second title this year after winning the Indonesia Masters in January.
Both pairs are now level with three wins each from their six career meetings.
Sze Fei–Izzuddin earned US$19,000 (RM75,390) as runners-up, while the champions collected US$39,500 (RM156,372). - FMT
