Bersatu Supreme Council member Dr Afif Bahardin says Muhyiddin Yassin has the credibility to advance an inclusive Malay unity agenda.

Bersatu Supreme Council member Dr Afif Bahardin described the development as “a new chapter in PN’s journey”.
He also said Muhyiddin had the credibility to advance an inclusive Malay unity agenda.
“PN does not need rhetoric that stokes emotions. It needs a leader capable of uniting the coalition, calming tensions, and rebuilding its strength based on principles and objectives that transcend the interests of any single party.
“Muhyiddin is not merely a founder of PN. In a political landscape often marked by ego-driven rivalries and struggles for influence, he has consistently adopted a moderate, inclusive, and consultative approach,” he said in a Facebook post.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang announced last night that his party, a PN component, had decided to sever ties with Bersatu following a special meeting of the central working committee which he chaired.
The decision came after the committee endorsed a June 2 resolution by the party’s syura council, which reviewed the policy, legal, and public-interest considerations surrounding PAS’s political cooperation with Bersatu.
The post of PN chairman is currently held by PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
Afif, the Taman Medan assemblyman, said PN’s strength in the last general election did not stem from any single party.
“That success was built on the support of diverse segments of society who saw PN as an alternative to patronage politics and the failures of the current government.
“Restore Muhyiddin as PN chairman,” he said. - FMT
